Christmas Eve Elopement at San Francisco City Hall

It’s that time of year when we feel the charm of holiday season, the jolly decking of the halls, and the sparkle and promise of a new year. I’m feeling particularly sentimental as I miss photographing these really sweet and intimate San Francisco City Hall elopements, that I adore capturing so frequently. This San Francisco couple chose to wed on Christmas eve last year, with each of their parents present. It was a heartwarming, uncomplicated, and romantic elopement with the festive backdrop of the holiday. Their parents were bursting with joy and the couple was so clearly head over heels for each other. City Hall was not very busy on Christmas eve, and it made for hopping around the different floors with the bride and groom a total breeze. Happy one year anniversary!!

Usually I meet my couples a little bit before their appointment, so we have a chance to grab some photos before they check in with the County Clerk. These two were sweet and a little shy, excited and so in love.

I loved the bride’s unique, very fragrant, and herbal bouquet! There was even a garlic bulb in it.

Waiting for their number to be called, outside the County Clerk’s office.

The elegant and classic architecture is the perfect backdrop for an elopement! It’s so timeless, you really can’t go wrong with getting hitched at San Francisco City Hall.

That just married feeling! The newly weds take a stroll in Civic Center Plaza, with City Hall behind them.

I can’t wait for City Hall to reopen, hopefully in the coming year, for more of these lovely civil ceremonies and sweet elopements!
