Crissy Field Engagement Photo Session

Jack is from Chicago, and Jenée is from the San Francisco Bay area, so they decided to take photos in both of their cities to celebrate their engagement! I had the honor of photographing their San Francisco engagement session, and the two are clearly in love. Their romance was palpable and I loved seeing how they made each other laugh as we strolled around Crissy Field. And Jenée looked gorgeous in her vibrant red dress that perfectly brought out the warm tones of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Crissy Field by the Warming Hut, is without a doubt, one of my favorite San Francisco engagement photo shoot locations! It sits right next to the Golden Gate Bridge, and if you would like an even better view, I recommend climbing to the top of one of the rolling grassy hills. Or you can stroll out on the pier for a view of the bridge facing northwest, and a stunning city view of San Francisco looking southeast. And it’s not uncommon to spot a sea lion swimming along, or the dorsal of a dolphin. There’s also a beach right there if you want to get your feet a little sandy. Whether Karl the Fog has rolled over the bridge in classic San Francisco style, or you are lucky to get a golden sunset, it’s a gem of a location and a perfect spot for your engagement photos to showcase a romance!

How They Met:

Jack had moved from Houston to San Francisco in 2016, and was busy with his professional life, but his friends urged him to try online dating. So he signed up for Match. Jenée, a San Francisco Bay Area native, was about to give up on online dating and happened to be planning to move to Texas. But she decided to give online dating one more try, and the two connected on Match! Jenée said that Jack was quick to pick a date to meet, and she appreciated that he was a man of action. The two had their first date at a restaurant in Walnut Creek, and started off with drinks. Drinks soon became dinner, and the two talked the evening away until the restaurant closed!

When you walk out on the pier it’s not uncommon to catch the site of a dolphin or a sea lion grabbing a meal!

How He Proposed:

In the summer of 2019, Jack proposed to Jenée in the East Bay, when the sun was setting and the fog was rolling over the hills. Often times at Crissy Field, the fog can be so thick that you can hardly see the Golden Gate Bridge! It was serendipitous that for their engagement session, the sun was setting and golden light was filtering through the hill that sits behind Crissy Field, as the fog started rolling into the city. It was absolutely perfect San Francisco weather to highlight the happy couple!

I am so excited to be photographing their wedding this fall in Yountville!
